Applying for Financial Aid

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is the application all RCTC students are required to complete to be considered for any type of Financial Aid - - Grants, Work Study or Loan funding. Students must complete a new FAFSA for each year they wish to apply for Financial Aid. Applications are made available in January. Although we accept applications throughout the year, the priority deadline for the 2010-2011 school year is April 15, 2010. Students who complete their files by this deadline will have an award letter prior to the first disbursement date.

SPECIAL NOTE:

The State of Minnesota imposes an application deadline for students who wish to be considered for Minnesota Financial Aid programs. Deadline dates at RCTC are as follows:

Fall Semester 2010: September 21, 2010
Spring Semester 2011: February 8, 2011

We encourage all students to complete their FAFSA online. Visit www.fafsa.gov or click on the link below to begin your application for financial aid.

RCTC School Code:

FAFSA on the WEB

Within one to two weeks of submitting the FAFSA, the Department of Education will email or mail you a Student Aid Report, or SAR. The SAR will either contain a request for more information or an Expected Family Contribution (EFC).  If no corrections are needed, you should keep the SAR for your records.  RCTC will receive your application and EFC data electronically, if we were listed as a College Choice on your FAFSA. We will be in contact with you to assist in completing your file at RCTC.

For answers to questions regarding the application process for Financial Aid and the FAFSA, please call 1-800-4-FEDAID or 1-800-433-3243.
