TELEPHONE INFORMATION
RCTC's main phone number is (507) 285-7210. These calls are answered at the main switchboard, which is located at RCTC. There is a voice mailbox attached to ext. 7210 so that the fourth caller is automatically switched to a choice menu. RCTC has a toll free number, which is 800-247-1206. This 800 number is to be used for College purposes only. The 800 number is not be used for family, friends, etc. to call staff member at work at the expense of RCTC. Long distance calls are to be made with an assigned ID Code. See section "Calling Long Distance" for details.
Each office has a direct phone number. A staff directory, listing office phone numbers, will be furnished. RCTC has a voice mail system. A voice mailbox is attached to each faculty phone. If you are sharing an office, the voice mailbox must be shared also. Instructions on how to initialize your voice mailbox can be requested through June Meitzner. If you have a problem with your phone, voice mail or long distance calling, please call June Meitzner at Ext. 7213.
Calling Long Distance-ID Codes needed
Long distance phone calls are to be made by using an assigned long distance ID Code. To obtain your ID Code, please call June Meitzner at Ext. 7213. Long distance calls are not to be made by direct dialing. All personal long distance phone calls must be made using your own phone card. Long distance ID Codes are: 1-to be used for college business only; 2-not to be shared with anyone-you are responsible for all calls listed under your ID Code, which does come from your budget. The procedure to use when calling long distance is: Press 8 (get dial tone) +1+area code+phone number, after last digit you will hear a solid tone, put your ID Code in during that tone.

NOTE: You will also have the option to select a "Standard System Greeting". DO not select the "Standard System Greeting". The personal greeting is much friendlier and more informative for your callers. The standard greeting simply says:
"Your call has been forwarded to an automated voice message system. (Your Name) is not available. At the tone, please record your message. When you have finished recording you may hang up or press "1" for more options.
