RCTC International Student Cross Cultural Scholarship

The Cross Cultural scholarship progam is an extension of goodwill from RCTC to International Students. The purpose is to encourage enrollment of international students. In turn, the community will benefit from a greater appreciation and understanding of other cultures.

The Cross Cultural scholarship offers International students the privelege of paying Resident rate tuition.

Scholarship Requirements

• All International Students must maintain status for their particular Visa requirements
• All applicants must complete a scholarship contract for every semester they wish to participate in the scholarship
• Students must maintain a 2.5 grade point average
• Students must complete and document
  • 10 hours of Cross Cultural experience
  • 8 hours of Volunteer Work
  • 6 hours of participation in the International Student Club
• Student must maintain a valid mailing and email address on file with the International Student Office.

Cross Cultural Events:

Each semester, the International Student office coordinates events where students can earn Cross Cultural hours towards their scholarship requirement. Examples of such events include Global Connections and the Rochester International Association's World Festival.

Volunteer Events:

Students are encouraged to volunteer on-campus and in town at pre-approved organizations. Organizations eager to host RCTC international student volunteers include:

• The Boys and Girls Club
• Ronald McDonald House
• University Center Sports Center
• Salvation Army
• Goodwill Industries
• The Rochester Athletic Club
• Rochester Diversity Council
• Paws n' Claws
• Hawthorne Adult Literacy Center
• Rochester International Association
• Rochester Campus

The Cross Cultural scholarship is subject to the discretion of RCTC and the college reserves the right to make changes.
