Online Application for Admission

Instructions for Applying Online:

1. STEP ONE: Login.
   *If you have a MnSCU account, you will be able to use that to apply to RCTC.
   *If you have attended RCTC, use your existing Student/Stinger ID number and pin to login.
   *If you are applying to RCTC for the first time, Create an Account.
   
   
2. STEP TWO: Submit the online application.  As part of this process, please be sure to select a major.
    
3. STEP THREE: Pay the $20 application fee by accessing your e-services account. Returning students are not required to pay this fee.
    
4. STEP FOUR:  Login to check the status of your application.  If you experience any difficulties, please contact our Admissions Department at 507-285-7268.
   
   To ensure prompt processing of your online application please complete steps 1 though 3 the same day you complete the online application.

   If you decide not to enroll for the term you apply but would like to be considered for a future term, please notify us before the term begins of when you intend to re-enroll.

   RCTC is asking you to provide information that includes private and/or confidential information under state and federal law. The college is asking for this information in order to process your application. The data privacy notice provides a full explanation of RCTC policy.

   To ensure prompt processing of your online application please complete steps 1 and 2 below the same day you complete the online application.

   1. Mail $20 application fee* and supplemental data form to:
      RCTC Admissions Office

      Be sure to write the applicant name in the check memo line.
      *There is a required one-time non-refundable $20 application fee that is incurred upon submission of the on-line application form.
   2. Print the High School Transcript request form, complete it, then mail it directly to your high school. This form authorizes the school to send your transcript to RCTC.

      Optional: If you've taken the ACT or SAT you may use the Test Score Request form that is provided once you've completed the online application. If your scores are reported on your high school transcript you may disregard the Test Score Request form.

   RCTC is asking you to provide information that includes private and/or confidential information under state and federal law. The college is asking for this information in order to process your application.

   You are not legally required to provide the information RCTC is requesting; however RCTC may not be able to effectively process your application if you do not provide sufficient information. With some exceptions, unless you consent to further release of private information, access to this information will be limited to school officials, including faculty who have legitimate educational interests in the information. Under certain circumstances, federal and state laws authorize release of private information without your consent:

   • to other schools in which you seek or intend to enroll, or are enrolled, if you are first notified of the release;
   • to federal, state or local officials for purposes of program compliance, audit or evaluation;
   • as appropriate in connection with your application for, or receipt of, financial aid;
   • to your parents, if your parents claim you as a dependent student for tax purposes;
   • if the information is sought with a subpoena, court order, or otherwise permitted by other state or federal law, and
   • to an organization engaged in educational research or accrediting agen

   RCTC shares administrative tasks and other functions with Winona State University and the University of Minnesota at the University Center-Rochester (UCR). Educational records of students taking classes at UCR may be made available to employees of these other two institutions if access is necessary to provide services to the students.
