to the Men's Basketball team, its coaches and fans for a great

Congratulations
to Head Coach Brian LaPlante and Assistant Coaches Chris Fernholz,
Jason Bonde, Steve Schroeder and the entire Yellowjacket Team as they
represented our college very well in the NJCAA DIII National Tourney
over the weekend. Thursday RCTC beat Sullivan (#2 in the nation),
Friday RCTC beat Bergen (they were #1 and undefeated) and Saturday
they came up a little short and eventually lost to Joliet.
RCTC finishes the season as the State (MCAC) Champion, Region (XIII)
Champion and the #2 team in the nation after winning those 2 huge games in the
national tournament. Demetrius Williams was named to the All-Tournament
Team.

Larson and Koenig Sign for Next Year:
Trevor Larson 6'4 Forward from Chatfield, MN has signed a Letter of Intent to play at South Dakota School of Mines located in Rapid City, SD. Larson averaged 13pts/4 rebounds in his 2 year career plans to major in Chemical Engineering.
Kurt Koenig 6'7 Forward from Waconia, MN has signed a Letter of Intent to play at SW Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. Koenig averaged 20 pts a game this year and was named All-State and All-Region and played in the NJCAA All-Star Game in early April.
Coach LaPlante gets 200th win;
On Wednesday January 7th, the RCTC Men’s Basketball Team beat MSCTC Fergus Falls 85-61 to move the team’s season record to 10-3. The win also was Coach Brian LaPlante’s 200th Career Win as RCTC’s Head Coach. Coach LaPlante has been leading the Yellowjacket program for the past 13 seasons. In that time his teams have twice won the MCCC southern division championship and in 2006 his squad qualified for the national tournament placing 5th overall. Congratulations on this career achievement.
