RCTC Yellowjacket Athletics
Melanie Lane is a St. Charles native and alumni where she was an active athlete in the volleyball program and Junior Olympic programs. Lane also contributed one year to Southern Minnesota Volleyball as part of the 18 Elite program. She is a 2007 graduate of Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa where she played volleyball before graduating with a BA in Communications. This is her fourth year as the assistant coach for the YellowJackets, and in the off-season coaches for Southern Minnesota Volleyball, as a head coach in the 17-18s division. Lane is also active in RYVA (Rochester Youth Volleyball Association) as a coach for youth clinics and camps. Growing up, Lane attributes her most inspirational mentors to a few special volleyball coaches. She only hopes to be as much a positive influence in young women’s lives as she's had coaches in the past make a difference in hers. Lane is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Educational Leadership and Sports Management through Winona State University.
