2009:

 

Anne Breland Signing UW-Milwaukee
On November 14, 2008 Anne Breland 5’11” Sophomore Guard signed a National Letter of Intent to play her next 2 years of Basketball for the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee Panthers a NCAA DI program that participates in the Horizon League Conference. “We are extremely excited for Anne and her family,” Yellowjacket Head Coach Steve Hucke stated, “she has worked very hard to achieve the dream of playing Division 1 basketball.” Anne, a 2009 NJCAA 1st Team Pre-Season All-American, was a 2008 Distinguished Academic All-American, NJCAA Academic All-American, NJCAA DIII 1st Team All-American, 1st Team Region XIII, 1st Team MCAC All-State, and 1st Team All-Southern Division selection. She led the Yellowjackets in scoring with 19 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game and led the NJCAA DIII in Free Throw Percentage at 91.4 % for the year. “We wish nothing but the best for Anne,” Coach Hucke said, “she will do well and be a big part of their plans next year.” RCTC finished 26-4 overall last season and won the MCCC (now called the MCAC) State Championship for the first time last season as well finished with the most victories in school history as well. Congratulations to Anne!

 

Sam Sikkink
Sam Sikkink, SO, G from John Marshall High School has signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball at the University of Missouri Kansas City, NCAA DI.  “I am extremely proud of Sam and what she accomplished,” RCTC Head Coach Steve Hucke said, “she has always wanted to play DI and now is getting the chance.”  Sikkink averaged 13.7 ppg and 3.8 assists per game for the 34-0 Yellowjackets and helped guide them to their first ever NJCAA DIII National Championship in their first time ever participating.  “Sam came up huge for us all year,” Hucke also commented, “she played both the off guard and point guard positions for us and did a great job.” Sam was named to the MCAC 2nd team All-State and 2nd Team All-Southern Division teams and was named the MVP of the MCAC State Tournament.  “Sam is a talented player who knows how to work hard and will help us in a lot of areas next season,” said UMKC Head Coach Candace Whitaker. “She has a great shot and is a solid defender, and we’ll look for her to make an impact right away with her collegiate experience.” Congratulations to Sam!

 

Tess Milczark

Tess Milczark, P, from Cambridge-Isanti High School has signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball for Minnesota State University – Mankato (NCAA DII) next season.  “We hate to lose a player such as Tess,” RCTC Head Coach Steve Hucke stated, “she was an  integral part of our National Championship.”  Due to a family illness Tess decided to transfer to be closer with family and a bonus is being able to play for the NCAA DII National Champion Mavericks. “She is going from one National Champion to another,” Hucke commented, “how sweet is that.”  Tess averaged 10 ppg and 4.6 rebounds per game for the 34-0 Yellowjackets and was named to the MCAC State Tournament team and was MCAC Southern Division Player of the Week one time.  "We are excited to have Tess join our team," said Maverick Head Coach Pam Gohl. "She is a strong player and gets up and down the court very well. Her work ethic and dedication from playing with a national championships team this past year will help her tremendously as she makes the transition to Division II." Congratulations to Tess!
