Steve Hucke, Head Coach for the Women's Basketball Team. This will be Coach Hucke's 9th year as the Head Coach. The RCTC Women's Basketball Team has gone 135-59 over past 7 years highlighted by winning the 2009 NJCAA DIII National Championship with a perfect 34-0 record. The fast break style of the Yellowjackets have garnered not only a National Championship but have won the Region XIII A Championship(2009), MCAC State and Southern Division Championships the past 2 seasons. The Yellowjackets have been ranked in the top 5 in the nation the past 5 seasons. The Women's team has participated in the MCAC State Tournament regularly since 2004 and in the Region XIII A Championship the past 2 seasons.. He has coached 2 NJCAA 1st All-Americans, 2 3rd All-Americans, 1 Honorable Mention All-American. 2 Distinguished Academic All-Americans as well as the 2009 Team receiving Academic honors this past season. He was named as 2009 National Tournament Coach of the Tournament, 2009 Region XIII Coach of the Year., He is a 2 time MCAC Southern Division Coach of the Year(2009 & 2006). Along with being the Head Women's Coach, he is the Head Baseball Coach and teaches in the Physical Education Department. He resides in Byron with his wife, Dawn and their 2 children Danielle and Collin.

Melissa Launhardt, Assistant Coach

Coach Laundhardt is entering her first year as an Assistant Coach at RCTC.  She will be working with Defensive Strategy, Post Play and Assist with Recruiting.  Melissa spent the past 2 years coaching both Basketball and Soccer in the Pine Island School District.  She also has coached area AAU teams in the off-season.  After graduating from Schaumburg High School, the Illinois native played college basketball at St. Mary’s University in Winona earning MIAC All-Conference All Academic Honors and team Most Improved Player until a knee injury did not allow her to play her Senior year.  She then helped with the transition of a coaching change while at St. Mary’s assisting in recruiting efforts until a new coach was hired.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Science from St. Mary’s.  She then achieved her Master’s of Science and Management from Cardinal Stritch University and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Organizational Behavior and Leadership from A.T. Still University.  She is employed at Mayo Clinic working in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology in the Gross Cutting Lab.  Coach Laundhardt currently resides in Rochester, MN.

Chelsea Wand, Assistant Coach

Chelsea transferred back to RCTC in 2008-09 after playing one year at St. Kate’s in the twin cities. She was very instrumental in the Yellowjackets winning the 2009 National Championship last season. She was named as an NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American, NJCAA National Tournament All-Tournament Team and MCAC 2nd Team All-State and All-Division in 2008-09. “Chelsea was the hardest working player that we have ever had here,” stated Coach Hucke, “she played a position that she was usually undersized but she stepped up to the challenge.” Coach Wand will help with the post play, assist in recruiting and scouting. Chelsea is currently finishing up her Nursing Degree. She resides in Rochester.
