RCTC Yellowjacket Athletics
RCTC Yellowjacket baseball has been consistently near the top of the Southern Division since Head Coach Steve Hucke took over in 2002. His teams have been to the MCAC State Tournament and have participated in the Regional Tournament.
"We always enter the season with the desire to get to the NJCAA DIII World Series," Coach Hucke states, "We play in one of the toughest conferences in the country and it has shown with many of our teams being a regular participant in the National Tournament."
RCTC offers each individual an opportunity to expand their horizons both academically and athletically. With many different career options available, each student-athlete is given the opportunity to pursue their interests and turn it into a career. We also are looking for individuals who would like to continue their playing career and hopefully get and an opportunity to move on to a 4 year university or college and continue their education as well as a chance to participate in athletics.
RCTC is a member of the MCAC (Minnesota College Athletic Conference) that consists of 14 schools that are set up into 3 divisions for baseball: Northern Division (Northland Community College, Mesabi Range Community College, Itasca Community College, Hibbing Community College and Vermillion Community College), Central Division (Ridgewater College, Minnesota State and Technical College, Anoka-Ramsey Community College, St. Cloud Technical College, and Central Lakes Community College), and the Southern Division (RCTC, Riverland Community College, Minnesota West Community College and Dakota County Technical College). 3 teams from the North, Central Divisions and 2 from the Southern Division participate in the MCAC State Tournament with the top 3 finishing teams participating in the Regional Tournament against the Wisconsin State Champion.
