Kirsten Goeringer Named 1st Team All American

Congratulations to Kirstein Goeringer for making NJCAA All American for the second year. The sophomre from Belle Foursche, SD earned All American as a Midfielder this year. She has been a leader on and off the field for the Yellow Jackets. She is majoring in Radiology and has been on the Dean's List her entire time here at Rochester Communiyt and Technical College.

 

 

 

RCTC Wins Region XIII Title

For the tenth time the RCTC Women's Soccer team has won the Region XII. They beat Bismarck State in the semi-final game. Anoka-Ramsey Community and Technical College beat Century College 4-0 in their semi-final game to meet the Yellow Jackets in the finals. the YellowJackets defeated Anoka-Ramsey 6-0 in the Regional Final. The Yellow Jackets advance to the District Tournament in Chicago, IL to play the winners from the Texas/New Mexico Region.

RCTC Women's Soccer Earns Top Seed in Region XIII

RCTC Women's Soccer team won the top seed in Region XIII with their 4-0 win against Bismarck State College October 10. The Region XIII tournament will be held at Rochester Community & Technical College October 24th and 25th. Rochester is the defending Region XIII Champions. If they win this year they will earn their 10th Region XIII Championship in the programs 11 year exsistance. The program currently has three players ranked in the top 50 in scoring while being unbeaten in Region competition so far this year.

RCTC Women's Soccer Team Places 3rd at Nationals in Texas!!!!!

The RCTC Women's Soccer team lost in the semi finals 1 - 3 versus Ocean County CC but bounced back and defeated Holyoke CC 2-1 in the 3rd/4th place game all without 2 starters who suffered major injuries in the first game of the tournament.

RCTC Women's Soccer wins District Tournament
and Earns Spot in the National Tournament

The RCTC Women's Soccer team won the District title by beating North Lake College in Irving, TX 3-1. The Yellow Jackets scored the first goal 17:00 min into the game when Kayla Fitzsimmons (Mahtomedi, MN) received a ball from Nikki Borkhuis (Watertown, SD) and took a shot from 25 yards out that went over the North Lake goal keeper into the upper corner. North Lake then tied the game in the 28th minute when they got a break away and placed it past goalkeeper Jenna Kaiser (Marshfield, WI) into the far corner. The half ended with a 1-1 tie. Both teams had 6 shots on goal during the first half. The Yellow Jacket scored their second goal 23 minutes into the second half when Kayla Fitzsimmons kicked a corner kick into the goal area and Kirsten Goeringer (Belle Fousche, SD)stepped in front of the goal keeper to score. The third goal came 12 min. from the end of the game when Sarah Snyder (Cottage Grove, MN) passed the ball to Kayla Fitzsimmons who then shot the ball over the North Lake goal keeper. The Yellow Jackets dominated the second half of the game7 shots. The defense only allowed one shot on goal the second half. Jenna Kaiser (Marshfield, WI) made 7 saves in goal. They will play their next game in Dallas against Ocean County College from New Jersey for the Semi Finals of the National Tournament. The Yellow Jackets record is 14-6-1.

RCTC Wins Region XIII Title

RCTC beat Anoka-Ramsey 8-0 in the Region XIII Championship on Oct. 24.  The Yellow Jackets are now getting ready to go to Texas to play for the berth into the National tournament.  The District tournament will be held Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 in Irving, TX.   The National Tournament will be held         Nov. 8 & 9 in Dallas, TX

Coach Deb Hare Deb Hare started the women's soccer program in 1998, Since then they have posted a 94-31-20 record. They team has won the Region XIII Championship every season but one. They have been ranked in the top ten National every year since 2002. The soccer program has produced numerous All Americans. It has also given players the opportunity to go on to four year universities to continue their career.
