Moped Rider Course

 

The Moped Course Tuition: $25.00

The Moped courses are 4 hours in length. They are combined with the Basic Rider Courses. Moped students only need to attend the first session of the three session BRC. Please note interest in the Moped course when registering.

Anyone who is a licensed automobile driver may ride a moped. Those who do not have an automobile license must take an approved moped course to allow them to ride a moped on the street. The MMSC Moped course is an approved course.

A moped is a vehicle that is propelled by a motor of a capacity of 50cc or less, and a maximum of two brake horse power, which is capable of a maximum speed of not more than 30 mph on a flat surface.

Anyone who holds either a drivers license or a motorized bicycle permit is eligible to operate a moped.

Anyone 15 years old wishing to obtain a motorcycle bicycle permit must:

  1. Complete an approved course
  2. Present completion card to examiner to take written and riding test (permit is void after obtaining drivers license.)

Enrollment is limited and classes fill up fast, so register early.
