The Building Automation Technician/Dispatcher II is responsible for processing requests for building system deficiencies and responding appropriately to system alarms. The technician works within the Control Center which provides coverage and support for a 24/7 facility. The technician may work independently or in a team setting. The Technician/Dispatcher II is capable of operating, diagnosing and correcting deficiencies on multiple maintenance and fire alarm systems in a complex work environment. Displays good organization ability and communicates with co-workers, prioritizes work during multiple events, and displays good coping and communication skills. Interacts and works in close cooperation with multiple departments across the Saint Marys campus and provides excellent customer service.

Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work occasional overtime may be required.


A two-year vocation degree or certificate in a HVAC, mechanical maintenance, building maintenance or building automation systems;

OR an Associate’s degree from an accredited program in HVAC, mechanical maintenance, building maintenance, building automation systems or another program that directly relates to building maintenance and/or building operations. Basic knowledge of building infrastructure and maintenance systems is required

Scheduled:  Mostly evenings (1 PM - 9 PM; 3 PM - 11 PM; 4 PM - 12 AM) and nights (midnight - 8:00 AM)with the occasional day shift.
8-hour shifts.

Must be flexible and open to rotating shifts. Overtime is likely. Works a minimum of 2-3 holidays a year

Weekend Schedule:  4 of 4 weekends.

Union = Minimum rate is $20.00 based upon union contract.

The Surgical Technologist completes the surgical count concurrently and aloud with the circulating nurse prior to the patient entering the surgical suite, prior to closure of a cavity, prior to skin closure, and at the time of permanent relief.
