SkyVault Theatre wins best of festival

BRAINERD, Minn. Û The Minnesota SkyVault Theatre Company, which features three RCTC students, earned the Best of Fest Award at the 2017 Region V Festival of the American Association of Community Theatres.

SkyVault also was awarded outstanding achievement awards in original music, composition and performance, ensemble acting and directing. The festival was held April 29-30 in the Chalberg Theatre at Central Lakes Community College.

Rebekah Novinger, Ashley Harding and Molly Kiley are the RCTC students who perform with SkyVault. Other cast members are Aidan Driscoll, Josiah Novinger, Lauren Tebben, Olivia O’Neil, Margaret Slater and Logan Guo.

“If you are the future, then American theater is in good hands,” said Mike Ricci, one of the festival adjudicators.

The Best of Fest award sends SkyVault and its “On the Road to Verona” show to the AACT national festival, which will be held June 26-July 1 at Mayo Civic Center in Rochester.
