Grants Coordinator
Vacancy Announcement
Responsible for managing a multi-state grant program funded through the ARRA – HITECH Act: “Information Technology Professionals in Health Care: Community College Consortia to Educate IT professionals in Health Care”. The Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of the Greater Midwest Training Consortium funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, including overall management of the consortium of community colleges, business representatives and other critical entities to ensure the successful development and delivery of the proposed health information technology programs. The position will be responsible for building partnerships, needs assessment, program creation and delivery, grant, contract and fiscal management.
Specific responsibilities include:

Coordinate
the creation, management and evaluation of the 10-state Greater Midwest
Consortium.
Ø In collaboration with the Office
of National Coordination (ONC), establish consortia program goals and
objectives and implement work plan as defined in the grant proposal.
Ø Coordinate with other ONC funded
health information technology initiatives.
Ø Serve in a shared leadership
capacity on the National Coordination Committee
Ø Determine and establish necessary
management, advisory and key stakeholder groups
Ø
Devise
strategy for determining goals, establishing action plans, devising
implementation plans, evaluation protocols to achieve desired outcomes.
Ø Provide leadership regional coordination committees and advisory
boards
Ø Create and execute contracts with
sub-awardees
Ø Provide oversight for member
college individual work plans
Ø
Utilize
technology to develop and implement a communication strategy to keep all
stakeholders informed of consortium activities, outcomes and changes
Ø
Oversee
responsibilities of sub-awardees project managers
Ø
Develop
an educational materials review process and communication strategy
Ø
Provide
technical assistance to sub-awardees in the management and delivery of programs

Develop
and implement effective marketing strategy to include communication to key
healthcare industry representatives, critical partner entities and students.
Ø Establish a marketing work group
with representatives from member community colleges, industry partners and key
stakeholder groups.
Ø
Identify
and evaluate multiple marketing strategies for student recruitment
Ø
Devise
plan for developing and distributing effective marketing materials and
communication strategies.
Ø
Evaluate
effectiveness of marketing strategies and recommend modifications
· Develop and coordinate local, state and regional student placement goals and strategies.
Ø Organize and coordinate multi-state workgroup to establish student placement strategies, goals and outcomes.
Ø Develop a work plan to achieve desired goals.
Ø Implement strategies within RCTC and provide technical assistance to consortium member colleges.
· Provide grant management activities to ensure the federal, regional, state and local policies, procedures and protocols are followed.

financial reporting processes and systems
Ø
Develop
and deliver grant administration protocols and provide training to member
schools
Ø
Provide
oversight and monitor compliance of sub-awardees including maintenance of
federal and state match budgets
Ø
Evaluate
policies and procedures
Ø
Devise
a process for collecting data for training participants, placement and
retention
Ø
Provide
recommendations for non-compliance with program outcomes to program manager
Ø
Provide
activity and financial reports to federal agency as required
Ø
Maintains
liaison with federal officials with regard to change in federal reporting and
procedure requirements to ensure adequate information is communicated to
sub-awardees
The Grants Coordinator must demonstrate the ability to develop, build and maintain partnerships in areas directly related to program planning, management and evaluation. The Grants Coordinator must possess the ability to research and develop new and innovative approaches to collaboration between higher education and industry to effectively meet the goal of the initiative. This
is a two-year grant funded position covered by the Minnesota Association of
Professional Employees (MAPE) bargaining agreement. Beginning (minimum) annual salary is
approximately $57,065 and placement on the salary schedule shall be
commensurate with experience and qualifications pursuant to the compensation
grid for MnSCU Academic Professional 6 within the MAPE
bargaining agreement, and includes excellent fringe benefits. The MAPE bargaining agreement may be accessed
