ADVANCED PLACEMENT
(MnSCU Policy
3.15)
(RCTC Policy 3.15)
MnSCU Board Policy 3.15 will be in effect with
the following addition:
Part 4. Procedures for Granting Advanced Placement (AP) Credit
at RCTC: Following receipt of AP examination report, the
Registrar will post the credits (but not a grade) to the transcript.
Credits earned by AP examination will not be computed in the student’s
GPA.

Part 5. Credit by Examination at RCTC:
Subpart A. Purpose. RCTC students may petition to
earn credits by examination.
Subpart B. Definitions. Credit by examination can
be provided for (1) courses which are currently listed in the college
curriculum; and (2) students who are currently enrolled or have been
previously enrolled and who therefore have an RCTC transcript to which
the credits may be posted.
Subpart C. Procedures. Students will initiate a Credit
by Examination Petition with the Office of the Registrar. The position
must be approved by an academic administrator and the faculty member
who agrees to administer and evaluate the examination. Following completion
of the examination, the faculty member will report the grade. A grade
of “D” or higher will be required to receive credit for
credit by examination. Credits earned by examination will not be computed
in the student’s GPA, or count toward enrollment in the college.
Credit may be earned through the Advanced Placement examinations in
specified courses as follows:
