ONLINE CLASS SIZE POLICY
(RCTC Policy 3.3.3)

Part 1. Requirements:
Per agreement reached at Faculty Shared Governance, the first time that an instructor teaches a class online, the class size will be 16. Any class taught online by the instructor thereafter, whether the same course or a new or different course, the online class size will be 24 tally/26 max.

Part 2. Definitions/Conditions:
In order to manage online delivery, particularly because faculty and administration have to date agreed to class sizes for online classes that deviate from classroom class sizes and because first time faculty offerings differ in class size from subsequent offerings, faculty intending to offer an online course must fill out and return the Request to Teach Online form for each course schedule request.

Part 3. Application of Requirements:
Online class sizes will be adjusted each term by Academic Affairs staff based on Request to Teach Online forms that are received and in cooperation with the Academic Deans.
