DENTAL ASSISTING CREDENTIALS:
Dental
assistants who graduate from a program accredited by the ADA Commission
on Dental Accreditation are eligible to take the national Certification
Exam for Dental Assistants. Upon successful completion of this exam, dental
assistants earn the title of a Certified Dental Assistant
In Minnesota, students who graduate from an accredited school of dental assisting and who have completed the MN Board of Dentistry approved curriculum in expanded functions are eligible to take the MN Registration Exam for dental assistants. Upon successful completion of this exam, and after making application to the Board of Dentistry, dental assistants may earn the title of a Registered Dental Assistant.
In Minnesota, it is desirable to be a Certified and Registered Dental Assistant.
