Julie Christie is an instructor and the Program Leader for equine
science. She is from the east coast of Canada and has an extensive
history working in the equine field; her experiences include teaching
and training horses, teaching Pony Club stable management, managing
stables, grooming, starting and training horses, working in equine
research laboratories, etc. Julie has competed in equitation,
hunters, jumpers, eventing, and combined training throughout Canada,
the USA, and in Ireland.

Jonathon grew up riding and showing horses. After a successful youth career, he pursued his education with an Associate degree in Equine Science at UMC. After spending a few years, working in the horse industry, he returned to UMC to finish his BS in Animal Industries Management.
Spending several years employed in the education field, he returned to UMC to teach in the equine program and coach the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) team. Under his guidance the UMC IHSA teams won several regional championships and earned berths at the Zone and National Championships in both western and hunter seat.
Jonathon raises, trains and shows a few ApHC and AQHA horses for western pleasure futurities.
Pam Whitfield, Ph.D
Pam Whitfield holds a Ph.D. in English from UNC-Greensboro. She
helped design the equine science curriculum at RCTC and teaches
both English and Equine Science. She holds multiple judges cards,
and continues to judge, give clinics, and teach riders on a part-time
basis. Pam also serves on the board of directors for the Affiliated
National Riding Commission, is an H.S.A. certified instructor
and clinician, and writes for horse magazines. Her articles have
appeared in Practical Horseman, Equus, The Chronicle of the Horse,
John Lyons’ Perfect Horse, and The Equine Journal.
Pam grew up in the North Carolina 4-H horse program and is the only youth ever to win high individual titles at both the Quarter Horse Congress and Eastern National 4-H judging contests. At St. Andrews College, she minored in equine studies, rode on the varsity equestrian team, and was reserve champion in advanced stock seat equitation at the 1988 IHSA Nationals. Pam has taught riding and managed instructional programs in colleges, camps, show stables and non-profit settings. Her primary focus is hunter seat equitation and giving new riders a solid foundation in the forward seat.
Bonnie Minor
Bonnie (Pumper) Minor is an AQHA Professional Horseman and Equine Science instructor in RCTC's Equine Science Program.
Bonnie has trained and shown numerous AQHA world and congress top 10 horses and she has coached several youth amateurs to the world and congress top 10. Overall, she has had over 60 top ten national level winners at the World Championship and Congress Horse Shows. Bonnie currently has a 24 stall training barn in Dennison, MN.
