EQUESTRIAN CLUB
The Equestrian Club was founded in Sping 2006 by
graduate Ashley Seiler. The club is offered to all
RCTC students that are horse enthusiasts wanting to
increase their knowledge in the equine industry and
build a network of contacts through peer interaction.
The club attends horse expos, hosts clinics and horse
shows as well as volunteers their time to non-profit
organizations. Students in the club fundraise to help
cover the cost of travel to IHSA competitions.
INTERCOLLEGIATE HORSE SHOW ASSOCIATION TEAM
RCTC has an English and Hunt Seat intercollegiate riding team. This involves traveling to other colleges and competing in horse shows with a team of riders. Competitors do not need to be advanced riders to participate as there are various levels of competition from walk/jog to jumping. RCTC has both a western and a hunt seat team. The head coach for RCTC's IHSA team is Jonathon Holland. Jonathon was involved in founding the University of Minnesota at Crookston's IHSA team and has coached their IHSA team to win several regional championships and also earn berths at the zone and national championships. Bonnie Minor, Pam Whitfield, and Julie Christie have also been assistant coaches for the IHSA teams.
