Coding Specialist is a certificate program that is embedded within the Health Information Technology (HIT) program. A student can enroll in the certificate program and then ladder up to the HIT AAS degree program. More than 90% of our students are HIT AAS degree seeking students.
Today, many employers are requiring the RHIT credential which students may pursue after successful completion of the HIT AAS degree. When making the decision between the Coding Specialist Certificate program and the Health Information Technology degree, a student should investigate hiring requirements of employers in their geographical locations.
