Purpose:  The RCTC Horticulture Technology Careers program offers a Horticulture AAS with the option to specialize in the following areas:  Floriculture/Greenhouse, Landscape Installation & Maintenance, Golf Course Maintenance, Sports Field Maintenance, Grounds Maintenance, and Urban Forestry.  The program also offers Diploma options in Floriculture/Garden Center Technician and Landscape / Golf Course / Grounds Maintenance Technician.

The Horticulture Technology curriculum provides students with the general education and technical skills to meet the demand for employment opportunities in Landscape, Golf Course, Grounds Maintenance, Urban Forestry, Floriculture and Garden Center businesses.  Well trained personnel are needed to meet the customer demands for horticulture goods and services.

Today's customers of horticulture products and services are more knowledgeable and demanding.  They seek quality products and numerous services.  These demands are the basis of employment opportunities in horticulture technology careers.  Specialization and departmentalization have created an increased need for skillfully trained personnel.
