Valued for its unique picturesque shape at maturity, the Scotch pine has a moderate growth rate reaching 60 to 80 feet at maturity. The upper portion of the tree has outstanding orange, flaking bark. One of the most popular pines grown for Christmas trees. Needles occur in pairs. It is one of the most widely distributed pines.
