Quaking aspen are a fast growing tree, developing an open habit. This native tree has smooth greenish-white bark and small rounded leaves that "quake" or "tremble" with the slightest breeze creating a pleasant sound. Naturally found in moist, shallow, rocky or clay soils it is adaptable to all soil conditions. Excellent for naturalizing, the tree has a gorgeous yellow fall color. This tree is also located in the amphitheater planting on the main campus.
