FIELD EXPERIENCE SITES
Students are provided with excellent opportunities for field experiences. There are a wide variety of agencies in the city of Rochester, as well as in surrounding communities. Where a student goes for a field experience is partially the student's choice, the availability of the site, and the appropriateness in obtaining the necessary experiences to fulfill the objectives of the course. Field experience may necessitate students being at the training facility during the day or evening hours.
Students are required to provide their own transportation to the field experience site. A background study conducted by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, the Nursing Assistant Courses, and enrollment in one of the theory courses (HS1550, HS1560 or HS1570) are prerequisites for field experiences.
Below is a list of community facilities frequently used for field experience. This, however, is not a complete list of places available.
