Program Philosophy
- RCTC offers hands-on training and industry preparation for students interested in a career in Mass Communications.
Degrees and Certificates
- RCTC offers a Mass Communications Associate in Science degree and three certificate options. These certificate options include: Broadcasting, News writing/Journalism and Public Relations/Advertising. RCTC also offers a certificate in Photography.
Courses
- Depending on the program options selected, courses may include: Principles of Broadcasting, Audio Production, Video Composition I & II, Beginning Newswriting, Photojournalism, Freelance Writing, Publications Lab, Desktop Publishing, Introduction to Technical Communications, Digital Audio Production, Mass Communications Law/Ethics, Salesmanship, Principles of Marketing, Public Relations, Presentation Graphics, and Principles of Advertising.

Start Time
- Students can start coursework any semester. Some courses are not offered every semester so students are encouraged to meet with program advisors to plan ahead.
