RCTC Campus Activities Board (CAB)

What is CAB?

The RCTC Campus Activities Board (CAB) students represent Student Life on and off campus. CAB members design and execute student activities, such as Welcome Day, Homecoming, ski trips and Twins games. CAB members will also design, plan and execute new activities that will enhance the Student experience at RCTC.  CAB members reach out to both prospective and current students and make them aware of programs and services available.  These students also actively participate in leadership development programs to gain advanced leadership skills.  For more information call Kyle Huneke at (507) 285-7204 or visit the Student Life office CC405 to apply.

What does it take to be a CAB member?

We are looking for students who are self-driven and motivated to excel and succeed during their time at RCTC. CAB will demand a lot of time and commitment throughout the school year developing, planning and executing campus activities. CAB members must be able to work as a team to achieve group and personal goals.

Rachel Schimek

My name is Rachel Rae Schimek. I went to Hayfield High School, and I am going to school for Nursing. I may consider being a Nurse Anethesist or becoming a Nurse Practitioner in the far future! I am grateful for my wonderful family and friends. I love being outside and keeping myself busy. I am one you won't find on the couch unless I am taking a nap or an occasional lazy day. I love to bake. I really enjoy being physically active and trying to live a healthy life. I am always up for a challenge and trying new things. I love being inspired! Lastly, I like to wear a smile on my face!

Jered Kemp

My name is Jered Kemp and I'm from Palmer Alaska. I am on the wrestling team at RCTC as well as student senate and CAB. My hobbies include playing xbox, hanging out with friends, and going to Buffalo Wild Wings. I am Majoring in Liberal Arts. I love being involved with CAB, it improves team building and leadership skills and is a ton of fun!

Chloe Griffin

My name is Chloe Griffin, I grew up in Michigan and New Jersey and then moved to Minnesota when I was in fourth grade. This is my second year at RCTC and I'm currently just taking generals! My hobbies include: school, working out, working at MGear, shopping, drawing, and spending time with my friends and family. My family means the absolute world to me (including my teacup yorkie). I'm so excited to be a part of CAB and I can't wait to see what this year has in store for me! I believe CAB will benefit me with life long skills that will help me to be successful and that I will always carry with me. This is going to be a great year!

Kayla Halleland

My name is Kayla Halleland. I was born and raised in Rochester, MN. This is my second year at RCTC and I am planning on transferring to a 4 year university after this, to major in Nursing. Some of my favorite pastimes include cooking, baking, running, spending time with my family and friends, and playing board games. In the near future I am hoping to get into school in Colorado, and move out there. I love being in CAB and I am excited for this opportunity to be a leader at RCTC and help put on events for the student body.
