Leadership & Professional Development

To be successful in today’s competitive environment you need to be continually learning and applying new techniques and skills. Our Leadership and Professional development courses provide insight into the dynamics of group behavior and how interpersonal relationships affect organizational performance. Accommodating change in the workplace and diversity in personnel is one of today's greatest challenges and our offerings deliver the tools needed for creating a high performance workforce. The courses available in leadership and professional development will keep you abreast of new leadership techniques and will assist you in attaining your professional and organizational goals.

The list below is a sampling of our available offerings. These courses can be customized for your organization and department. These sessions have been facilitated from management to line workers in all business settings.

Leadership Lessons
Begins September 12, 2007

Becoming a leader within an organization can be a difficult transition and requires an additional set of skills. This seven course series is designed to assist new leaders in developing crucial leadership skills. The topics covered in the seven week series are: Leadership Styles, Giving Feedback, Coaching and Mentoring, Conflict Management, Time Management, Team Building , and Project Management. The seven sessions incorporate a variety of adult learning methods including; small and large group activities, individual reflection, and practical application. Each participant will be expected to create and apply an action plan for utilizing the new skills in the workplace. Each participant is asked to select a mentor to assist him or her with transferring the techniques learned in the sessions to the work environment.

Dealing with Difficult People at Work

In the workplace you may encounter individuals that are difficult to get along with, yet somehow you need to find a way to work effectively with those individuals. This interactive workshop will assist participants in identifying the “difficult” and examining the real story behind the label. With a few simple techniques, negative intensity in stressful situations is transformed into positive interactions. Whether dealing with personal or professional circumstances, this approach has proven successful. Learn techniques that result in win-win situations for all. Discover the mystery of working successfully with challenging personalities.

Project Management 101: The Basics for Success

In today’s environment a critical skill is managing projects successfully. Everyone manages a project at some point in his or her career, but may not have the job title of Project Manager. This session will provide an overview of the methods used when managing either large or small projects. The participants will be introduced to the tools and procedures for designing, scheduling and controlling projects in operations and management, with emphasis on human needs in project management.

Sales 101: It’s All About Relationships

Relationships are the key to selling success. This session focuses on teaching you techniques to develop long-term relationships with your customers. You will be introduced to a non-traditional sales model that matches customer need to your product or service. Discover new ways to approach your sales calls in this interactive workshop.
 

Navigating the Multi-Generational Workplace

Today we have four different generations working in our organizations. The Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X’ers, and Millennials each bring with them a different set of experiences and values. This class will examine how the different generations influence communication, attitudes and behaviors in the workplace. The session will provide the participants with solutions and tools to narrow the generation gap to create a more productive environment.
