What is CLEP
CLEP (College-Level Examination Program®) is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program in the United States, with more than 2900 college and universities awarding credit for satisfactory scores on CLEP Exams.

With CLEP, a student can earn college credit for what he or she already knows - regardless of where or how that knowledge was acquired - by passing a 90-minute multiple-choice examination.

The 34 CLEP examination subjects fall within the following categories: Composition and Literature; Science and Mathematics; Foreign Languages; History and Social Sciences; and Business.

CLEP tests are administered in a computer lab environment accommodating twelve students on Wednesday mornings each week.

The Minnesota Department of Health has contracted with Promissor®, a nationally recognized leading provider of assessment services to regulatory agencies and national associations, to develop, score, and report the results of the competency examination required for certification and placement on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
