Will Rochester Community and Technical College be open for Spring 2022?

Yes. Our goal is to provide as much flexibility to meet students’ needs while still following safety guidelines and best practices. We will continue to provide you with an excellent learning experience, and are ready to adapt should public health conditions change.

If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to email, call, or come to campus.

Will classes be held online or in-person?

Is it safe for me to visit campus?

Yes--and your safety continues to be our top priority.  If you see anything that needs our attention, please do not hesitate to contact any staff member and we will address the issue.

Do I have to wear a mask while on campus?

Effective Wednesday, August 4, 2021, all individuals (students, faculty, staff, contractors, visitors, etc.) are required to wear a face covering when indoors on the RCTC Campus or in a state vehicle when traveling with another person, regardless of a person’s vaccination status.

RCTC believes it is in everyone’s best interest to reinstitute a face covering requirement. Masks or other facial coverings are not required outdoors. This face covering requirement will remain in effect until further noticed. If you need a face covering, please go to the Welcome and One-Stop Center for a free RCTC-branded mask.

Our focus remains on protecting the health and safety of all that come to our campus and supporting our students as you progress down your educational paths. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we continue to adjust our campus plans to focus on these priorities.

Hand sanitizer, gloves, masks, and other safety items will be in numerous places throughout the buildings.

What if there is severe weather?

The College's priority is to provide a safe learning and working environment. However, should the weather become too dangerous for students and staff to travel to and from campus, College Leadership may elect to postpone or cancel classes, or close campus early. These decisions are not made lightly and many factors are considered before making the decision. Please note: any decision about a late-start or class cancellation will be made before 6am.

If the decision to close/cancel is made, students will receive an email via the RCTC Alert System. The system can also send text messages and make phone calls.  To sign up and change preferences, please visit https://rctc.bbcportal.com/. Closure announcements will also be broadcast on KTTC-TV, KXLT-TV, and KAAL-TV.
