Deadline Extended for RCTC Foundation Beat the Odds Scholarship Nominations
The RCTCFoundation is currently seeking nominations for our 2017?‘scholarship program to honor high school seniors?OR?first-year RCTC students who have overcome significant challenges in their young lives.
?is a unique scholarship program and fundraising event that pays tribute to high school seniors?OR?first-year RCTC students?from the Rochester and surrounding communities who have encountered obstacles such as personal or family hardships, abuse, neglect, medical issues, disabilities, chemical dependency, or language and cultural barriers and, despite these struggles, have become both personally and academically successful. The purpose of the program is to raise awareness of the struggles of youth in our community and recognize their ability to overcome these challenges. Selected students will be honored as recipients of a $2,500 scholarship to attend Rochester Community and Technical College. The January 12, 2017 scholarship award ceremony also?pays tribute to the mentors who helped the students achieve their goals. A video featuring the students and their stories will be presented at the event.
To be eligible, a student must be:
- A high school senior who is on track to graduate in June 2016 and has plans to attend Rochester Community and Technical College for Fall of 2017.
- A current RCTC first-year student, who is currently enrolled and plans to continue at RCTC for Fall 2017.
