Former Pulitzer Prize-Winning Boston Globe Investigative Reporter Speaking on Campus

Rochester Community and Technical College will welcome Stephen Kurkjian on Feb. 22 to speak about his career as an investigative journalist, and to reflect on the importance of independent and vigorous reporting for our democracy.

As an editor at the Boston Globe for nearly 40 years, Kurkjian was awarded two Pulitzer Prizes one a shared award as part of the team investigating the clergy abuse scandal within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston (featured in the movie Spotlight?).

Kurkjian will speak at two different times on two different topics on campus.

At 11 a.m. he will discuss the Gardner Art Heist the largest private property theft in history in Coffman 206/208.

At 2 p.m. he will discuss the Boston Globe Spotlight Team’s investigation of the Boston clergy scandal.
