Interim Athletic Director announced

PatricRochester Community and Technical College is pleased to announce Patric D. Simon as the College’s new interim director of athletics.

Mr. Simon comes to RCTC most recently from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL where he served as director of athletics. Prior to Tuskegee, Mr. Simon held similar positions at Langston University, Langston, OK; Cheney University, Cheney, PA; St. Paul’s College, Lawrenceville, VA; and Lincoln University, Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

The Director of Athletics develops, directs and assesses all athletic teams, programs and services which support the academic mission and educational outcomes of the College. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, this position is responsible for supervising all staff, facilities and finances related to college athletics.

A native of Baltimore, MD, Simon graduated from Johnson C. Smith University (North Carolina) and earned his master’s degree from Clark Atlanta University. He began his career in the Georgia public school system as a teacher and coach before accepting his first collegiate coaching position at Fayetteville State University (Fayetteville, NC).

Mr. Simon’s first day on campus will be August 17, 2015.
