Last week in Athletics April 19
The Yellowjackets brought home six wins last week, beating Riverland, Ridgewater, and Minnesota State.
On Tuesday, April 12, the softball team played Riverland and won 10-0 and 8-4.
The ladies wrapped up the first game in five innings. Christina Stanger scored three runs, and Paige Gadient and McKayla Ahlrich two each. Ashleigh Dralle had three RBIs and Stanger two. Gadient stole two bases, and Stanger and Kayla Branstad each stole one base.
Pitcher Sammy Hogan faced 20 batters and only allowed four hits.
The second game, Hogan and Ahlrich each scored two runs. Stanger and Hogan each had two RBIs.
On Friday, April 15, the Yellowjackets traveled to Ridgewater, winning 6-4 and 10-2.
The first game, Stanger scored two runs. Branstad had two RBIs, and Stanger and Hogan each had one. Gadient stole a base.
The second game, Gadient, Stanger, and Haley Vanourney each scored two runs. Vanourney, Hogan, Quincy Gross, and Ashleigh Dralle each had one RBI, and Shantel Loos had two. Vanourney, Gadient, and Dralle each stole a base.
On Saturday, April 19, the Yellowjackets took on Minnesota State, winning 7-2 and 10-1.
The first game, Hogan and Stanger each scored two runs. Loos had three RBIs and Dralle had one.
The second game, Gadient and Gross each scored two runs. Branstad hit a homerun. Stanger had two RBIs, and Vanourney, Brandstad, and Dralle each had one. Gadient stole three bases, Vanourney two, and Stanger, Branstad, and Dralle one each.
The Yellowjackets play next on Tuesday, April 19, at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at home against Minnesota West.
The softball team is ranked seventh in NJCAA national polls.
The baseball team played 6 games last week, winning three and losing three.
On Wednesday, April 13, the team played Anoka-Ramsey, winning 5-0 and losing 2-4.
The first game, Austin Baab, Damon Nuss, Matt Founttain, Anthony Rosario, and Michael Sigrist each scored a run.
John Brown had two RBIs, and Nuss, Founttain, and Logan Fuller each had one. Brown stole two bases and Fuller stole one.
The second game, Brown and Baab each scored a run. Baab hit a home run and had two RBIs.
On Saturday, April 16, the Yellowjackets took on Western Technical College and won 8-7 and then played Iowa Central and lost 2-3.
Against Western, Baab scored three runs and Fuller two. Baab had another homerun and three RBIs. Dustin Nelson had two RBIs and Brown one. Fuller stole a base.
The game against Iowa Central, Brown and Arron Hohensee each scored a run. Brown and Nelson each had an RBI, and Nelson and Hohensee each stole a base.
On Sunday, April 17, the team played Iowa Central and lost 4-7 and won 8-2.
In the first game, Ross Withington scored two runs. Jimmy Anderson and Hohensee each had two RBIs, and Sigrist stole a base.
The second game, Fuller and Nuss each scored two runs. Baab, Nelson, and Nuss each had an RBI, and Rosario had two. Fuller stole a base.
The Yellowjackets play next on Thursday, April 21, against St. Mary’s JV at 3 p.m. at St. Mary’s.
