After spending spring break in Myrtle Beach, the Yellowjackets racked up three wins on Wednesday, March 16.

Getting up early to take on Northland was the way to beat the team 23-0 after five innings. The Yellowjackets managed 13 runs the first inning alone.

Paige Gadient and Sammy Hogan each scored four runs, and Christina Stanger and Haley Vanourney each scored three. Hogan had five RBIs and Stanger three. Hogan and Stanger each scored a homerun.

Pitcher Hogan faced 16 batters and didn’t allow one hit.

At 9 a.m., the team took on Itasca, winning 11-3 in five innings.

Vanourney scored four runs. Vanourney and Stanger each had two RBIs as well as a homerun each. Hogan and Vanourney each stole a base.

The Yellowjackets finished the day playing Mesabi Range and winning 10-0 in five innings.

Vanourney, McKayla Ahlrich, and Makayla Kaeppel each scored two runs. Hogan had three RBIs and Vanourney two. Hogan also had a homerun. Kaeppel stole a base.

Pitcher Hogan faced 17 batters and allowed one hit.

The Yellowjackets play next on Friday, March 25 vs. Rainy River and Vermilion in the Bubble.



The Yellowjacket baseball team was in Myrtle Beach last week, winning four and losing seven. The team plays Iowa Lakes on Tuesday, March 29 at 2 and 4 p.m.
