RCTC Softball Letter of Intent Signing

Rochester Community and Technical College is excited to announce that five players intend to join the Yellowjacket softball team next year. The letter of intent signing event will take place Friday, April 29 at 7:00 pm in the All-American Room at the Rochester Regional Sports Center on the RCTC campus.

We are very excited to add this talented group of freshman to our ‘Jacket Family,’ said Head Softball Coach, Niki Peterson. They each bring a different skill set and will be a great fit with our returners. With the departure of sophomores who have made a huge impact on our program, we look to some freshman to fill big holes, and this group has the ability to do that.

RCTC softball will have five returning sophomores. Quincy Gross from Columbia Heights, MN is RCTC’s pitcher and is currently eighth in the nation in strikeouts (107). Makayla Kaeppel from Hawkeye, IA is a starting right fielder this season. McKayla Ahlrich is from Sleepy Eye, MN and is currently starting as shortstop and is pitching. Starting as catcher this season is Kayla Branstad from Northwood, IA. Shantel Loos played for Century High School and is starting at third base for RCTC this year.
