RCTC Student Beehive – April 22, 2020

In light of the COVID-19 changes, the Beehive is one tool that will be used to relay important information to you as it becomes available. It’s likely that it will no longer be a Wednesday publication but rather we will send it out as is necessary to keep you updated. Please be sure to take advantage of The Hive (this blog). It has loads of information in addition to the Beehive!

Check out the following links for important resources that are available to you:

Don’t Forget to Update your Address

To help reduce the risks related to COVID-19, Records and Registration staff are working from home and we need to temporarily suspend rush orders for paper transcripts.  Transcript processing times may be slightly delayed during this peace time emergency.

 Official Transcripts:
If you need an official copy of your transcript, you must make a request to RCTC through the National Clearinghouse. An official transcript cost $7.50/transcript for a two-business day turn-around time. For an additional $5/transcript the Records and Registration office will try and release your transcript within two hours of your request, except during peak periods. All official transcripts go regular postal mail. To send transcripts to a Minnesota State institution, please see below.

Unofficial Transcript (Student Copy):
You can access your full transcript for FREE via the eServices. This transcript is identical to the official transcript in content, however it is not printed on security-paper and thus is not certified as an official RCTC document. Unofficial / Student copies of transcripts are not acceptable generally for employers or other colleges.

To get a FREE copy from eServices, follow these instructions:

  1. Log in to eServices.
  2. On the left menu select, “Academic Records.”
  3. Then select from the sub-menu, “Unofficial Transcripts.”
  4. Select the option by which you want to view your academic record, then select “Get Academic Record.”
  5. Your academic record will be displayed by the criteria you selected. To get just a printable, PDF copy, select “the PDF icon.”
  6. Remember to log out of your account when finished.

Send Transcript to another Minnesota State Institution
Electronic transcript retrieval is now possible among all Minnesota State institutions for students who are enrolled or transferring to another Minnesota State institution. As a result, it is no longer necessary for most students to order transcripts to be sent to another Minnesota State ask staff at the receiving Minnesota State institution about their e-transcript retrieval procedures. Only in some cases will you be asked to order your transcript. RCTC will continue to require a request and will charge transcript fees for all archived records to any destination.

Reverse Transcripts (from any Minnesota State institution):
RCTC will attempt to retrieve e-Transcripts from all other Minnesota State institutions you have attended at point of application. If you would like an updated transcript pulled, please submit the Transcript Retrieval Form.

For questions, please contact Records and Registration at 507-285-7268 or 800-247-1296 ext. 7268.

  • YOU can also plan your work/personal schedules earlier too.
  • Don’t assume seats in courses will remain available . . . new students have already started registering.

Before you finish Spring Semester classes, be sure you update your address in the demographic section of eServices. It’s important to keep your mailing address current, so that you receive essential college communications. Keeping your address current also helps us all by lowering costs of returned and re-sent mail.

If you are graduating, your diploma will be printed and mailed within 6 weeks of the degree posting. Your address must be correct for awards to be delivered by the postal service.

Don’t wait and take the chance of forgetting…update your address TODAY!
