Vball Yellowjackets sweep MCAC PotW


All four spots of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Southern Division Players of the Week were swept by the Yellowjackets for Oct. 26.

Ashely Bichel, a freshman from Caledonia, was named Hitter of the Week. She averaged 3.1 kills per set and had an attack percentage of .342. Bichel also had eight blocks.

Jessica Foster, a sophomore from Brownsdale, was named Setter of the Week. She hit 800 assists for the season after adding an additional 109 last week during they Yellowjackets’ three matches. She had 51 assists alone in a 3-1 win vs. Fergus Falls.

Carley McCabbe, a freshman from Decorah, IA, had 59 digs this past week, including 25 in the match against Fergus Falls.

Tori Peterson, a sophomore from Harmony, was named All-Around Player of the Week. This is the second time Peterson has been named All-Around player. She had 31 kills, 25 digs, five aces, and 3.5 blocks during the past week.

The Yellowjackets are 21-6 overall and 13-0 in conference. They play next on Wednesday, Oct. 28, in their last regular-season game against Anoka-Ramsey at 6:30 p.m. at the Regional Sports Center.
