You\u2019ve likely heard there\u2019s a big election coming up on Tuesday, right? Are you ready to vote? The Echo staff answers common questions to help you fulfill your civic duty.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s happening on Tuesday?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Tuesday, Nov. 8, is the date of U.S. Midterm elections. In Minnesota, voters will be electing members to the U.S. House, as well as to major statewide positions, including governor, secretary of state, state auditor, attorney general and some judicial seats.<\/p>\n

Who can vote?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

To vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old on Election Day, a resident of Minnesota for 20 days, and finished with all parts of any felony sentence<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What time are the polls open?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Minnesota polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you are in line by 8 p.m., you must be allowed to vote, even if you do not reach the front of the line until after 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

Where do I vote?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

What if I\u2019m not registered yet?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In Minnesota, you can register or update your registration<\/a> at your polling place on Election Day. Find out what you\u2019ll need to bring with you. Depending on when you register to vote, you may need to bring proof of residence to the polling place.<\/p>\n
