I politely inquire,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">why is it that we so desire,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ivory skin, with eyes of coal?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Why not the gentle grey contour of a cheekbone?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Certainly not because we do prefer,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">One color to another,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Or that we prefer the beauty of a bottle,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Over the raw individual beauty we carry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Because as we have grown,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We have fallen short,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">no longer admiring individuality.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">no longer seeing unity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We see what is on our feed,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Nothing more, black, or white.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We see those bodies on magazines and feeds,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And decide that, maybe, we aren\u2019t good enough<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Maybe that\u2019s why we don\u2019t have friends,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Maybe that\u2019s why we don\u2019t have a partner,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Maybe that\u2019s why we don\u2019t talk with anyone<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Or maybe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Just maybe the reason you don\u2019t have those things,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Is because you don\u2019t get off the black and white screen,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Long enough to see,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">All the beautiful greys the world has to offer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Maybe we should admire the gentle and raw power,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Each individual possesses<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The sheer magnitude and intellect<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Each person provides.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Maybe, we should admire one another, rather than our screens.<\/p>\n<h2><em><strong>Sonder<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A person, among billions of others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A nameless face, a person with no identity,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">What can you see in me?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Projections of insanity?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I\u2019ve been told I look less than Friendly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But among the ceaseless flow of time,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I wish for happy moments strung on telephone wire.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">What moments will my mind retire?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Which ones will leave something to be desired?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I\u2019ve been thinking I shouldn\u2019t care.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And in the daily bustle and chatter,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I hope for some quiet,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">a moment of serenity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Will I find a moment to simply lay?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Are you someone who will stay?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Because my days are long and dreary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And there\u2019s not much I will or can say,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">on the topic of yesterday or tomorrow,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Quiet or loud.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Or people, even.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Because we all experienced yesterday,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And we could experience tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We\u2019ve all been loud, in some manner of speaking,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And We\u2019ve all been quiet, in some definition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But something many of us lack is the warm beat,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The quiet contentment, and subtle calm,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">From the most human of things,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A basic connection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Poured over coffee or tea,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Fending off days so bleak,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We search for a style=\"text-align: center;\">Lying,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">about where I\u2019m at<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">is a hard thing to sell.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Once I get past<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that fact<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">look myself in the mirror.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Realize<\/p>\n<p
