Eddie Otterness, the new Music Tech Club president and aspiring civil engineer, has been a part of the club since 2016.<\/p>\n

Since he has always enjoyed working with music, he likes the idea of binding his music with his engineering, picturing a day where he can play in a building that he built. He also has dreams of leading humanitarian efforts overseas and helping underdeveloped countries grow and produce more.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe club\u2019s been up to a lot of cool things this year,\u201d Otterness said. \u201cWe threw a mixer September 15th and played the music at the Homecoming Dance. We\u2019ve also had several parties at the Art Center.\u201d<\/p>\n

The opportunity to partner with the Art Center was a complete coincidence. The former president of the Art Club, another campus organization Otterness is involved with (he serves as the Vice President), worked at the Art Center. Otterness said when he casually asked about hosting an event there, he was able to secure a place to throw free mixers whenever he needed!<\/p>\n

The Music Tech Club plans on hosting more mixers. The next will hopefully be soon and may feature a fashion show collaboration with Rochester-based fashion line \u201cSimba.\u201d<\/p>\n

Otterness hopes his activity within the club will increase student involvement and encourage more RCTC students to make their own music.
