The baskets are just in time for the Christmas holidays, and as a result, some people choose to do their gift shopping here.<\/p>\n<p>These eclectic mix of basket themes come from various departments on the RCTC campus because many of the departments choose to design a basket for this event and fundraiser.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-763 alignleft\" src=\"\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Chocolate-Lovers-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"327\" height=\"218\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rctc.edu\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Chocolate-Lovers-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rctc.edu\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Chocolate-Lovers-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rctc.edu\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Chocolate-Lovers-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 327px) 100vw, 327px\" \/>Vrieze enjoys the event because the money raised goes to a good cause. The proceeds go to Iris Fried Scholarship Fund for students in the TRIO program.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-765 alignright\" src=\"\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/crock-pot-basket-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"398\" height=\"265\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rctc.edu\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/crock-pot-basket-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rctc.edu\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/crock-pot-basket-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rctc.edu\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/crock-pot-basket-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px\" \/>TRIO, which stands for Turning Roadblocks Into Opportunities, helps students with disabilities, low income or those who are first-generation college students. The program is grant funded and provides tutoring and advising free of charge. TRIO accepts 250 applicants at a time, but students must send an application if they wish to be part of the program.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-768 alignleft\" src=\"\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/snuggle-and-read-to-me-2-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rctc.edu\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/snuggle-and-read-to-me-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rctc.edu\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/snuggle-and-read-to-me-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rctc.edu\/echo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/snuggle-and-read-to-me-2.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>As a side note, there is still time for people to design a basket if they want. As an extra incentive, whoever makes the most creative basket will receive a prize.
