Course Description
This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of typography. It is a basic overview of the structure, history, theories, and use of type. Students will learn to identify and classify typefaces. Design of letterforms and visual symbols will be developed through projects.

- Identification and classification of typefaces

The student will be able to:
- Utilize the Elements of Art, Principles of Design, or Typography in order to create aesthetically appropriate compositions.
- Demonstrate fundamental technical skills in the creation and presentation of design. Develop unique and innovative solutions using conceptual thinking. Identify significant typefaces throughout history.
