Course Description

This studio art course builds on the basic methods and ideas of Drawing I. This course transitions from assignment-based projects to independent and cohesive work. Students will experiment with historic and contemporary methodologies and media. Color media and related techniques will be introduced and explored. Focus is on problem solving and the creative process. Students will further develop an aesthetic response to their work, the work of the class, and to art in general.

Learning Outcomes (General)

The student will be able to:

1. Create original drawings that demonstrate a visual vocabulary, that explore conceptual frameworks, and exhibit an ability to make aesthetic judgments at an intermediate level.
2. Articulate an informed personal reaction to drawings through critique.
3. Identify and effectively use drawing materials with media specific techniques and safety considerations related to those media.
