Course Description
This course involves framing of a new single-family home. Students assemble floor systems, build exterior walls, and frame the roof. Safe building practices and tools of the trade are introduced. Good work habits are established.

The student will be able to:
- Demonstrate the safe use of hand and power tools and equipment.
- Interpret information from blueprints and construction documents.
- Apply building codes and safety standards.
- Layout and install a floor system, framed with walls, and roof system
- Install wall and roof sheathing.
- Identify and use proper fasteners.
- Cut studs, plates, sills, stringers, and rafters.
- Build safe scaffoldings.
- Demonstrate general carpentry skills.
