Course Description
In this course, students learn to use hand tools, portable power tools, and woodworking machines in a safe and efficient manner. Students build cabinets and woodworking projects using a variety of fastening techniques. Finished cabinets will be installed.

The student will be able to:
- Select and safely use the appropriate tools and equipment for the selected process.
- Plan and draw a design for cabinets.
- Successfully construct various wood joints used in the wood shop.
- Construct a wall or base cabinet to acceptable industry standards.
- Build and install cabinet doors and hardware.
- Build and install drawers and guides.
- Select and apply various wood finishes.
- Select appropriate materials for a job based on specifications.
