Course Description

This course is a continuation of FREN 1101. This course focuses on Learning French language and culture within the context of daily life in French-speaking regions worldwide. Students will develop communication skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Sensitivity to cultural differences is emphasized.

Learning Outcomes (General)

The student will be able to:

  1. Converse in dialogues using a variety of verb tenses.
  2. Demonstrate speaking fluency in small group discussions and large group presentations using a variety of verb tenses.
  3. Role play in social situations (small and large group conversations) with comprehensible language and pronunciation using a variety of verb tenses.
  4. Converse about their own lives and daily life in the French speaking community worldwide.
  5. Write short dialogues or paragraphs within the major content areas using a variety of verb tenses.
  6. Read and demonstrate general comprehension of materials related to the content areas.
  7. Research and compare the cultural diversity of French-speaking communities around the world.
