Course Description
This course covers lab experience in commercial refrigeration. Students will operate and troubleshoot refrigeration equipment including compressors, flow controls, and heat exchangers.

The student will be able to:
- Apply safety when operating refrigeration equipment.
- Analyze a hot gas defrost/ice harvest system.
- Operate a commercial refrigeration electric defrost system.
- Operate/troubleshoot a walk-in cooler/freezer
- Check the operation of a water cooler.
- Check the operation of a commercial icemaker.
- Service a water-cooled condenser.
- Analyze the data of commercial cooling unit.
- Operate cascade/2 stage system.
- Operate a residential air conditioning system.
- Operate a combination heating/cooling system.
- Check a residential central air conditioning system.
- Locate trouble in a heat pump.
- Adjust thermostatic expansion valve.
- Adjust automatic expansion valve.
- Estimate the refrigeration load for a walk-in cooler.
