Course Description

This course provides an intermediate and advanced group instruction in vocal performance skills, methods, and techniques. This class should be of special interest to students who are planning to teach music classes at any level as it will give them the opportunity for greater understanding and development of their voices and how to teach others these concepts. It is also a valuable course for students interested in solo, theatrical, and vocal ensemble performance.

Methods for Evaluation of Student Learning

Methods may include but are not limited to:

• Higher expectations of demonstrated progress with assigned vocalizes and songs than MUSC 1421 students, more challenging literature will be used.
• Special projects (individual and group presentations and performances)
• Midterm and Final recital performances
• Quizzes on reading assignments
• Class journal entries
• Class performance critiques/observation
