Course Description

This course provides students with opportunities to strengthen their recording and production skills through guided studio troubleshooting and independent creative projects. Students will learn to diagnose and solve common technical issues while using studio facilities to create original recordings. The course emphasizes independent learning, problem-solving, and maintaining professional studio practices. This course can be repeated twice.

Outline of Major Content Areas

1. Studio Troubleshooting and Technical Readiness. Diagnosing, correcting, and preventing common recording studio issues.
2. Independent Project Design and Development. Creating proposals, planning workflow, and building original recording projects.
3. Creative Production and Personal Expression. Applying recording and mixing techniques to produce music that reflects individual artistic goals.
4. Critique, Reflection, and Revision. Participating in scheduled reviews, applying feedback, and refining both technical and artistic outcomes.
