Course Description
This course will assist the nursing student in role transition to a graduate practical nurse. The principal concepts presented include nursing career opportunities, employer expectations, interdisciplinary nursing practice, group process/team building, crucial communication, leadership styles, practical nursing scope/licensure, legal/ethical decision-making, and problem solving. This course will explore health promotion and illness as it relates to the individual. Students will implement problem solving and critical thinking as they apply nursing care for multiple patients in a clinical assignment.

- Retain and recall medical/surgical asepsis in the nursing lab/simulation and clinical areas. 6. Demonstrate appropriate preparation and medication administration.
